BPD conferences 2014This year finds big names in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) treatment gathering around the globe to present research and discuss various aspects of BPD treatment and BPD symptoms.

Here is a look at the BPD conferences scheduled for 2014:

What Works for Borderline Personality Disorder?
February, Israel

February 7 and 9, 2014, leading clinicians will gather in Tel Aviv, Israel, to discuss what works best when it comes to Borderline Personality Disorder treatment. Speakers at this conference include Professor Peter Fonagy, Dr. Frank Yeomans, Dr. Alan Fruzzetti, Dr. Ken Silk, and Dr. Perry Hoffman.

BPD treatments being discussed include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mentalization-Based Therapy, Transference-Focused Therapy, psychopharmacology treatment, and family interventions.

The conference is being held by the Magid School of Psychotherapy, established by the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, in cooperation with the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEA-BPD) and The Israeli Centre for Mentalizing.

March, Houston

NASSPD Annual Conference 2014
April, Boston

The North American Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (NASSPD) will hold its annual conference April 4-6, 2014. The conference is led by Mary C. Zanarini, EdD, and Perry Hoffman, PhD.

Conference participants will learn evidence-based practices in diagnosis of those with Borderline Personality Disorder, become familiar with the most up-to-date information on personality disorders (particularly BPD), and get an overview of the latest information on the biology of BPD.

The event is co-sponsored by the NEA-BPD, Clearview Women’s Center for Borderline Personality and Emotional Disorders, and other BPD treatment providers.

3rd International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder and Allied Disorders
October, Italy

The 3rd International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder and Allied Disorders will take place October 16-18, 2014, in Rome, Italy. The conference, held by the European Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (ESSPD), focuses on tailoring BPD treatments to different developmental pathways and phenomenologies.

Speakers at this conference come from around the world, and include Martin Bohus, Catherine Cohen-Kadosh, Patrick Luyten, Lars Mehlum, Antonia New, Alexandra Philipsen, Peter Fonagy, and Marsha Linehan.
